Sera was a habitable planet that was the home-world of humanity. The globe had a 26-hour day. Topography comprised a few vasts, contiguous continents surrounded by the Serano Ocean, and several small island chains. Beneath the surface of Sera existed The Hollow, a honeycomb of tunnels and caverns permeating the planet’s crust that was the home of the Locust Horde and the Lambent. Sera also has two moons.

Marcus Fenix, a disgraced former war hero, seeks personal redemption as he leads his fire team against an onslaught of merciless warrior friends. Sergeant Marcus Fenix, ES, Gear, was a soldier of the Coalition of Ordered Governments Army, who won the Embry Star for his heroism, gallantry, and bravery during duty. A legendary war hero, Marcus served with distinction in the Pendulum Wars, which earned him the Embry Star, the COG’s highest military award, for his actions during the Battle of Aspho Fields.

The Pendulum Wars was a massive, global, and 79 year-long conflict waged by the two superpowers of Sera, the Coalition of Ordered Governments and Union of Independent Republics, for control of the planet’s natural resources, Imulsion. Millions of human lives lost in the conflict, and devastating weapons damaged the environment. The war was a deadlock for the majority of the years until the COG broke the stalemate by going around the land warfare with the UIR and staging a daring raid in Aspho Fields.

Sera was a habitable planet that was the homeworld of humanity. Globe had a 26-hour day. The topography comprised a few vasts, contiguous continents surrounded by the Serano Ocean, and several small island chains. Beneath the surface of Sera existed The Hollow, a honeycomb of tunnels and caverns permeating the planet’s crust that was the home of the Locust Horde and the Lambent. Sera also has two moons.

The Locust Horde, often called the Locust Army by humans, and the Horde by the Locusts themselves was a race of reptilian humanoids that, until Emergence Day, have lived in and established their civilization in the subterranean regions of Sera, known as the Hollow. It is unknown for how long the Locust Horde has lived in the Hollow, but it has come understandable that their creation was after the research project led by Niles Samson. Who oversaw the research on several Imulsion-infected miners at the New Hope Research Facility, the eventual shutdown of the facility, and Niles Samson’s departure with a group of scientists and subjects to Mount Kadar.

The Hollow was an underground tunnel network beneath the surface of Sera that is home to the Locust Horde and many other hidden creatures. In the crust of Sera, the Hollow split between the Inner Hollows and Outer Hollows. The Outer Hollows are closer to the surface and explored by humans after the invention of the Lightmass Process to mine for Imulsion.

Imulsion was a luminescent, volatile, low-viscosity fluid discovered by an oil exploration drill on the planet Sera. The discovery of the substance and its use as a fuel played a crucial role in Seran and Locust history. Control of Imulsion was the leading cause of the Pendulum Wars, which weakened humanity’s unity but gave them the strength to fight the Locust Horde on Emergence Day.
